Marine Strategy Framework Directive reporting resourcesSupport files for 2014 reporting on monitoring programmes under MSFD Article 11 |
All enquiries can be directed to msfd.helpdesk@eionet.europa.eu
The document log below is maintained through the course of the reporting phase to ensure issues raised and responses are made available to all.
Member States are required to upload their data files to the âMarine Strategy Framework Directive: monitoring programmes' obligation in their national folder in Reportnet (CDR), as described in the announcement letter and guidance for the electronic reporting. Data files are validated XML files (Art 11 and, if relevant, geographic data) and text-based files. XML files can be generated automatically by completing webforms (only available for Art 11) or from Member State databases. The webforms will be accessible when creating an envelope in the relevant Marine region and/or sub-region sub-collection folder within the Member State folder. More information on the use of webforms can be found in the user guide for using web forms under the Help documents
The reporting requirements for MSFD Article 11 were adopted by the Marine Strategy Coordination Group in February 2014, and include general information on the content and format of the reporting, together with the Reporting Sheet. The Reporting Sheet tables have been translated into web-forms and XML schemas for provision of the information.
Reporting of spatial data is required only in cases where the reporting areas (MarineUnitIDs) and associated GIS polygons are not already available from the 2012 MSFD reporting. In such cases, updated MSFD4Geo.XML and GIS polygon shapefiles (or gridded data) should be submitted as described in the Reporting package above (and further detailed in the MSFD 2012 reporting guidance_incl_database_v1.0 and Document no. 3 on reporting spatial data).
Load the XML templates in the country folders at EIONET. The XML templates are then edited using the Webforms.
The need for Style Sheets has become obsolete for this particular reporting. When reporting is completed, either via web-forms or with the upload of XML files to the CDR, the result will be shown in a web-form format that can be edited if necessary
Submission of schemas is made through the ReportNet Common Data Repository, by choosing the âMarine Strategy Framework Directive: monitoring programmesâ reporting obligation under EU obligations. Guidance on uploading to ReportNet can be found in Document no. 1.
The document log is maintained through the course of the reporting period to ensure issues raised and responses made are available to everybody (To be produced).
