Note regarding validation errors on RBMP and SWMET schema. Following validation, a number of errors could not be cleared as the format of the data in the reporting database could not be made to sensibly tie in with what was required of the validation tool. This applies to the SWMET_ and RBMP_ schema,. In both cases, we require to be able to enter text into fields that the validation tool specifies should be numbers. However, in some cases a text explanation is required or text values are an important part of the data: for example, where we wish to enter a range as a value rather than a single number (e.g. < 0.6 mg/l > 0.9mg/l). Similarly, some of the number values we have entered in the RBMP_ schema tables are not within the range allowed by the validation tool. AS they are mandatory we cannot delete them, and we cannot change them or will be entering incorrect data. We have consulted the Helpdesk material on the resources page and note that where other Member States have similar errors to us on validation they have been advised to ignore the validation error message and upload the data. We have proceeded to upload the data on this basis. Fiona O'Rourke, EPA Ireland Date: 8th July 2010
